[ that conversation she'd had with Maya near her arrival had been merely hypothetical. but since, she'd seen that statue, she'd seen the announcement of her birthday with her name attached to it and then, she'd been given a direct confirmation by Frühling herself. her convictions were strong; there was no need to fumble. yet she saw her talking to the device number she had confirmed as that woman's.

She can feel the disgust rolling around inside her and the chill shooting down her spine when she takes in a single deep breath, thinks, and releases it slowly. Once she's able to record a satisfactory voice:]

[It's a little bit like a living nightmare, but her thoughts are too confused and conflicted to think of anything much while she pads up the stairs and approaches the hallway to the bedrooms, arms wrapped tightly around herself, pressing as if to give some kind of a comfort hug when there's no one else to give it. This doesn't stop the tears from falling at all, though it does keep her going. She's strong.

Even if she knows the other one's gone too, now, she can be strong. They went together.

When she sees the note sticking out against the surface of the dresser in his (their) bedroom, she already realizes what it probably is. She isn't aware what trick of the Twelve allowed for all these letters left for her, but there's no doubt in her mind she absolutely has to read this one. It'll be from Tatsuya.

And it is.

And it hurts.

Faintly, she feels sorry to him for it even now, but she's not smiling and she's definitely crying as she falls to her knees, covers her face with both hands and most of the letter itself. He's right. He is never going to "see" her again. This is the last time he can ever tell her he loves her, and this morning -- at breakfast, after she smiled and booped him on the nose and took his last slice of toast -- was the last time she could ever really tell him she loved him a lot back. It is hard to say goodbye, and this is goodbye, in practically every sense of the word.

She hopes he really does think it's okay for her to be sad right now. This is the third time she's lost him.]

there's really only one thing that roxy can think of as optimistic at a time like this. tatsuya's departure hurts her—a lot—but if there's one thing roxy's learned in the time she's known maya, tatsuya and jun, it's that the three were inseparable. kinda like herself and her friends from home are.

so while roxy herself is aching at this time when friends and loved ones are being sent home left and right, she can't make it about her. she has to be here for the friends who remain.

[When she receives the message, Maya has to smile, a mixture of bittersweet and wry. Half of her hopes she could be back home with them right now too; the other half realizes that even if she was, it would be just the same as if she hadn't been with them at all, because they forgot about her and she'd have to stay away from them. She can never be together with Jun and Tatsuya again, unless the magic of the Twelve somehow mystically brought them back.

Somehow she knows that's a long shot.

But she appreciates Roxy's... optimism? caring? consideration? It reminds her of her own, and she sits up with an arm wrapped around her knees as she types.]

Thank you, Roxy-chan. :) I am still here. I'll take you up on that kind offer if I should ever need to.

[She does recognize the voice well enough, just as she recognizes an urgency in it that's only reasonable. There's no time to say much; there's not even really time to wonder about how bad the injury is or how long it's been since her friend was hurt. Maya answers swiftly, with all due seriousness.]

[ You'd expect a city fresh out of an invasion to have no need for petty services like flower delivery; however, business seems to be going on as usual, even if it's significantly dwindled. With his boss gone, and Yuuki kind of shaken, the flower shop has been in a bit of disarray. Mistakes ... are very likely, right now.

Yata read the wrong address - a personal address, from his former boss - and followed it blindly. That is why he is standing in front of Maya's door right now, and holding a rather grand bouquet in his arms. He gives two knocks. ]

[Apparently a pretty personal address at it, too; this used to be his own when Jun lived here, in a house together with Maya and Tatsuya. It's early enough along in the preparations for V3's reopening that she's still spending more time than usual at home, and, either Yata's luck or her own luck being what it is, she's close when he knocks, she hears him and she opens the door promptly.
