Her own body is racing with need (though you better bet not for Izaya specifically), and she knows she can control herself for just a little while longer, knows there's a reason she didn't ask to make an urgent visit to a certain someone's apartment after she selected her dress. She should be able to wait a few more days, shouldn't she? Worry about calling so-and-so then. Take care of it after the gala itself?

But the lack of rest and the dreams are getting to her.

There's a part of her disgusted with herself for even considering more worship -- and what's more, voluntary worship -- with him, but there is also a part of her that sees this as a way for him to owe her. A chip in her favor.

She has some other things to make sure of before she fully goes through with it, of course, but those can wait until she's right in front of him.]

[ well. of course she always had the option to deny him, and Izaya wouldn't even hold it against her if she did. from his relationship with her thus far though, he expected Maya to oblige him. if he didn't, he wouldn't ask. it was no big loss if she acted differently, but he had never been the type to bow his head and plead unless it would directly benefit him, so if he could avoid rejection, he would obviously rather.

all that aside though, if she granted him his request, he was unlikely to be demanding. this wasn't a personal affair. this was a matter of necessity, though not one he particularly scorned. while each step taken beyond that necessity would be observed with incitement of his ego that she probably didn't want to deal with, it wasn't a requirement. ]
